Walking in the woods beyond dusk
Fog so thick you couldn’t see the sky
I saw a faint glow in the foliage
Followed the trail and I could not believe my eyes
“Where were you all night?” I saw a brand new place
“Did you go alone?” The only human soul around
“Was your purpose right?” Mere curiosity
“Glad you’re home”
Saw creatures dancing in the moonlit night
None that I could recognize
No cameras for chimeras, I think one looked in my direction
It made a noise not of this world
It seemed like they were having fun
So I went on my merry way
I turned around, the glow was gone
Will I return to see them dance another day?
I hope it wasn’t all a dream
I hope it’s not gone
