I saw her on a Sunday morning Sipping tea under a cafe awning I wondered if I’d ever see her again I didn’t even know her name No clue what interests were the same There’s no point in obsessing over Someone I saw in just a fleeting glimpse Went for a walk around the city Weather was cold and pretty shitty I should’ve worn an extra layer I could’ve freezed to death out there I just wish there was something more Because life these days can be such a bore It’s the same shit on the other side of the door I saw her again, a new location Waiting to depart from the train station Reminds me, I should take a vacation But I don’t have that kind of money If I did, where would I be running? Too tired of the static landscape But clinging to familiar curtains

I hope I make it big soon, Because 27 can’t come soon enough I’ve been waiting for the tidal wave to wash me away I’ve been waiting for the ending to this drawn-out passion play Drag me by the skin of my teeth to the nearest shore Drown me in the waves, surround me until I can’t feel anymore Someday I’ll fill a stadium, the audience will roar But only if I stay here, get the right foot out the door My time on Earth is fleeting, no room for lasting love I hope I make it big soon, because 27 can’t come soon enough When I am on trial, for all my sins, did or did not commit It might take a while, the moral grey, to which I did submit Let the angels cast their judgements, let them cast them well When they’ve made their last decision, banish me to Hell Mortals are sentenced to pay the price Cost of the deeds they performed After they’ve worked off the devil’s debts Angels can then be reborn No redemption, you have failed once more, consumed by the flames Never-ending, constant damnation, playing Satan’s game
