Nowhere Special

The father, son, and the holy ghost Know which apostle they love the most They shower him with gifts and presents To allocate to all the peasants But then he says “it’s all for me! For everything I choose to be! Bestowed upon my grace from He!” Jesus was a communist Rock the boat! The bunker buster took its toll The life we knew is now a hole Soldiers crumble to their knees Succumbing to the heat disease Winter solstice, heading out Replacing it, the mushroom cloud It tears through all our barricades Meanwhile, the billionaires still get paid The symphony of meaningless Existence condones emptiness But not for me, weight off my chest I live a happy nihilist If all is fair in life and death When I exhale my final breath It will be at my own behest I won’t be taken alive

Are you happy, are you living the life that you wanted to? Are you happy, do the clouds fade away, to brighten your day? Are you happy, are you happy now? Are you happy, did your future look quite how you thought it would? Are you happy, does the sun in your eyes still catch you by surprise? Are you happy, are you happy now? We all have off days, regardless of the weather No matter what, things turn out for the better So flip that frown, upside down, and look around! Are you happy, the kind that rubs off on everyone who says hello? Are you happy, do you wake up to birds and understand all their words? Are you happy, are you?

Does your bridge burn bright? Does it illuminate the night? Where your dreams are filled with regret Are you sure you’re done? Is now a good time to walk away from everyone? The memories you won’t forget Waiting for the hourglass to run out of sand Chained by nature to the ticking of the second hand Has the Rubicon been crossed? You’re free but at what cost? Is it worth all the solitude? Did you play your part? Were you doomed to fail from the very start? Or was it just your attitude? Mirrors on the wall reflect your true desires As your bridges burn, are you safe from their fires? Has the die been cast? Have you closed the book on the past? Never to be read again Are you sure you’re done? Is now a good time to walk away from everyone? Will you ever make amends?

Do you know the names of everyone below you? Or is your life a mirror because everybody knows you? Understaffed and overworked, we all think you’re a jerk Disengaged and monochrome, the world is not a dome You can’t contain what you do not respect We chant revolt, what else did you expect? You and your earth-penetrating weapon And the yacht by the dock of your offshore banks Ready to bring about a sudden apocalypse Decked out in Kevlar and your personal tank What are you waiting for? You’re funding both sides of the war All the money rolling in The world suffers for your billions Diamond mining for luxury fashion Flee to space to feed your greatest passion Cult of personality you chiseled out of bone Can you conceptualize that this world is not your home? The lives of those you slayed will rise up from the dead The zombies and the living will march demanding your head!

Cassiopeia 03:37
Counting the stars from my window, a figure appears She offers her hand and, asks me to come near Reaching out into the night, draws me closer to the light Constellations in her eyes, brighter than the sunrise Tripping the light fantastic, the cosmic ballet Cassiopeia, what a beautiful name The backdrop lit by shooting stars, entrancing as Mars Fire bright as Venus, there’s no space between us Just as we reach the finale, she’s gone in a flash Nebulous beauty, that none can surpass Didn’t even get to say goodbye, but her face remains forever in my eyes Cassiopeia, will I see your face in the stars? Will we still dance when you’re 10,000 light-years too far? I wait at the window for you to return every night Cassiopeia, when will I receive your light?

Not another rainy day The flooded streets are no place to play Clouds and sky are unnamed grey Overcast and disarray Waterlogging all the lawns Can’t watch TV, there’s nothing on Overflowing all the ponds The storm feels like it’s 40 days long Forests turn into wetlands Raindrops run along the palm of my hand Mudslides are born from castles of sand Stay inside and lay around, I cancelled all my plans Forecast says the sun will shine tomorrow Rays of light, will they alleviate my sorrow? A pot of gold awaits me at the end of the rainbow Is the world out there much better than it looks through my window?

Foolish Love 06:30
You’ve left the bar, but I’m still drinking You’re standing tall, and yet I’m sinking You have the perfect stance and perfect eyes And I’m still wearing my disguise I don’t know your name, or where you live But I’d still get you the best gifts anyone could give I know you’re shy and that’s okay Because I am too, and I wouldn’t have it any other way I see your face in the stars When I look at the midnight sky Or at ripples in a lake And I don’t know why I see your face in the sand When I’m walking on the beach I know you’re not that far away But you still feel out of reach A lie untold to keep her heart shining gold A silver knife to fend off monsters that stalk her in the night Shining like a beacon from the end of the shore Greeting you with sunshine when you open the door Treat each other well, how could you ask for more? A book unsold, you can tell she's reading by the way the pages fold Her favorite shoes, she wears them special just for you It feels like we’re thousands of miles apart Even though you don’t know me at all, there’s a place for you in my heart Why can’t I tell you how I feel Why can’t I tell you this is real
8.
Soul reborn, new beginning Resurrected back to living Frozen solid skull is grinning Revenant is unforgiving Cannot be staved off by any sermon Flesh draped over bones like a curtain Follows your every step like vermin If it catches you, death is certain Revenant rise, glassy eyes Feel its grip and necrotize
9.
Camera shutter flash, it’s the last time you saw your friends Tangible memory, are you really sure this is the end? We’re all cooped up waiting for social health Progress being halted by excessive wealth Who needs fuzz, you should feel safe around your peers Strength in numbers, on the same side there shouldn’t be much fear Paradigm shift, this should’ve happened years ago But the way we’re raised and taught, how could we have known? Hope for the future is twice as bright Action directly at those unright Changing the minds of those once uptight No more societies of lords and knights Hope this tunnel leads to a field of light
10.
So many faces I will never wear Might look good on someone I will never know Blending into a crowd that’s starting to disperse Reveals myself like footprints in the snow My soul has left my body But my bones are intact And my heart is still beating Waiting for angels to mock me from Cloud Nine I get it, it’s not that great on this earthly soil Someday I’ll make something better of myself But for now, I serve the mortal coil I’m trying my best to succeed in my goals Pistons at top speed when I’m on a roll Don’t ask the devil if I sold my soul I’m nearing completion Some days I’m more motivated to work hard Other days I can’t get the courage to start Give me the strength to create from the heart I’m nearing completion It's time to put out to the world something new My hard work and effort, my offer to you And if you're listening all the way through I hope you enjoy it I hold in the palm of my hand lasting legacy Creating these stories through sound is my destiny But as life flows in waves, I’ll soon be a memory Postmortem stardom, what a cruel twist of irony!
